Well, as the saying goes ~ better late than never… that is sorta my blog motto. I openly admit that I don’t deserve any A’s when it comes to blogging. Anyhow ~ this past summer I had the pleasure of attending an evening learning event at Holland Tunnel Park. It was hosted by Professional Photographers of Michigan {PPM} & led by Master Photographer Kari Douma. The purpose (or my purpose) was to learn tips and tricks for photographing evening session at the beach. I tend to photograph in locations that are either extreme rustic (country farms with old barns, fields, trees, etc) or downtown urban (lots of textured brick walls, metro buildings, back alley staircases, etc) so I wanted to learn a bit more about how this whole evening {aka sunset} beach session worked. Yep… it was so much FUN! It’s not for those who think they can just trot on out to the beach and snap away {that’s why you hire me… the super fun professional gal} ~ a little off camera flash, properly metering the light, & being ready cuz that sun sets fast! Don’t think that is all we do… as you can see from my images, it’s absolutely possible to start off with some more classic looks then finish the night with running & jumping ~ Pure Family Fun in Pure Michigan & on our states amazing Lakeshore… it’s sorta like the icing on a cake or {if you’re more like me} a big ‘ole ice-cream cone on the way home!
If you think this type of session is for you please contact me today to schedule an appointment or just chat on how things work. Please note that evening/sunset beach sessions are scheduled 1hr prior to sunset {that can get late for little ones so plan ahead}. Sunset beach sessions are also perfect for seniors as either a stand-alone session or an add-on second location.
